Sanctum Foundation
We create access to wealth building tools through knowledge, community, and collective practice.
Sanctum is a community for learning together, building trusted relationships, and turning shared knowledge into ownership and collective power.
Where we see possibility
The opportunity is ownership.
Black, Brown, and Indigenous communities already create immense economic and cultural value. Yet we remain underrepresented in many of the assets and institutions through which wealth grows, decisions are made, and resources are passed forward.
- 2.7%
- Black Americans represented 14.4% of the population in 2021 but owned 2.7% of businesses with employees.
- 3%
- Only 3% of Black households owned nonresidential commercial real estate.
- 4%
- Between 2019 and 2022—a period of substantial Black wealth growth driven largely by housing equity—public equity accounted for 4% only of that growth.

The Re:Wealth practice
Re:Wealth is how we move from community to action.
Sanctum's three-part framework grounded in history, community, and collective action.
- 01
Remember
Understand the histories and systems that shaped our relationship to wealth.
- 02
Reclaim
Define wealth around ownership, agency, well-being, belonging, and stewardship.
- 03
Regenerate
Turn shared knowledge and trusted relationships into ownership that can sustain what comes next.

What we believe
“Ownership is the outcome. The practice is remembering the power within our community—and doing the patient work of building institutions that belong to us.”
Ways to begin
